BREMONT//JAGUAR: WHAT DRIVES THIS ICONIC PARTNERSHIP?

See the cars that inspired the Bremont Jaguar Collection and step inside the workshop of Bremont Co-Founder Nick English as he talks about the passion that ignited the partnership with the British car manufacturer.

Bremont first launched its partnership with Jaguar in 2010 when the brand developed a unique dashboard clock for the Jaguar C-X75 cars and went on to produce a range of Jaguar watches. Click here to read how the journey has developed since then.

JAGUAR E-TYPE COLLECTION

In 2014 Bremont launched a bespoke wristwatch in celebration of one of Jaguar’s most iconic cars, the Lightweight E-Type. Design Director of Jaguar at the time, Ian Callum, explained how he wanted a watch that was subtle in terms of the design, yet captured the spirit of the Lightweight and found Bremont to achieve the goal perfectly. A series of six limited edition watches were created to match the six exclusive Lightweight E-type cars.

Due to the overwhelming popularity of these watches and a call for a more accessible version of the limited edition watch, Bremont launched two new Jaguar watches a year later, based on the road version of the Lightweight E-type.

The MKI and MKII watches include a nod to the iconic Jaguar speedometer and the ‘rev-counter’ which are clear within the dial, also bringing a measured yet eye catching splash of colour to the watches. Visible through a sapphire crystal case back, the mechanism again takes design cues from the E-Type with an automatic ‘steering wheel’ winding weight. Further automotive imagery can be seen in the ‘tyre tread’ winding crown.

JAGUAR D-TYPE

Nearly a decade into the Bremont/Jaguar journey, Bremont launched the D-Type watch.
The Jaguar D-type won the Le Mans 24 Hours race three times between 1955 and 1957 and to celebrate this British racing icon Bremont designed a mechanical chronograph that transports the wearer back to this golden era of motorsport.
The blue dialled timepiece is inspired by pantones of the Ecurie Ecosse Jaguar race team and was limited to only 300 pieces (as the D-type was classified as a 300 bhp car). The large exhibition sapphire case back shows the beautifully finished mechanical movement and now iconic intricate Jaguar steering wheel inspired rotor.

JIMMY FALLON SPORTS THE MBI ON THE TONIGHT SHOW

The famed American TV Host, Jimmy Fallon, was seen wearing the coveted Bremont MBI watch live on air earlier this month. Fallon had previously surprised his father-in-law with the watch on The Tonight Show having made the connection that he had successfully ejected from a US Navy F8U Crusader during a training mission in the 1960s.
